PRSA Kansas Presents SHS Most Clarus Awards and Best of Show

June 2, 2011

Wichita, Kan. - The Kansas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) held its annual Clarus awards ceremony on May 24, 2011, and SHS came away with eight awards, including Best of Show.

“Earning Best of Show is a big honor – and being recognized for PR work for a brand like Coleman is especially humbling,” said Lathi de Silva, vice president-director brand reputation at SHS. “And when our peers in the PR industry notice our work as top-notch, that speaks volumes about our team.”

SHS’s work for Paul Jr. Designs Coleman® Roadtrip® Grill RoadTour earned the Best of Show honors, while also earning a Clarus – the highest award in a category. The seven-city tour featured Paul Teutul Jr., star of TLC’s American Chopper, who visited a number of retail locations around the country to promote the new grill, designed for Coleman.

Best of Show:
- Paul Jr. Designs Coleman Roadtrip Grill RoadTour, special events category

SHS Clarus awards include:
- Cargill’s Tender Ridge Angus Beef "Acts of Tenderness," community relations/causes category
- Meyer Natural Beef’s Microsoft Tag on-pack sticker, creative tactics category
- Paul Jr. Designs Coleman Roadtrip Grill RoadTour, special events category

SHS Excellence awards include:
- Cargill’s Blackwell Angus Beef NASCAR racing outreach, integrated communications category
- Kansas Health Foundation’s annual report, multimedia communications category

SHS Merit awards include:
- Westar Energy’s SmartStar website, web site category
- Pratt & Whitney’s "Soldier” video, external video category

To ensure all entries are given equal opportunity to win, reciprocal judging of entries takes place for each year’s Clarus awards at a similarly-sized PRSA chapter. In 2011, the PRSA California Inland Empire Chapter judged the entries for PRSA Kansas.
